Our Mission

The Research and School Internal Review Directorate (RSIRD) strives to act as the driving force behind the Ministry’s initiative for research-informed policy and practice. RSIRD also strives to assist colleges and schools in developing their capacity to become communities of reflexive practice, as part of a social process that seeks to foster a collective learning culture, by virtue of which members of a community are enabled to think critically, reflect on their actions and consider alternative ways of thinking and doing.

Our Vision

We believe in conducting thorough research, in line with sound ethical practices, whilst empowering colleges and schools to effectively engage in the internal review process. The following values underpin our work:

  • Integrity and transparency
  • Professionality and excellence
  • Timeliness
  • Creativity, innovation and adaptability
  • Collaboration, communication and teamwork
  • Inclusivity and student-centredness

The RSIRD also hosts the Malta Eurydice Unit, part of the Eurydice Network, which connects 42 countries within the Erasmus+ programme, supporting European cooperation in education.
